How to Keep the Best Cookware Looking Good
I have the best cookware already so I don’t need to buy anymore yet. Ocassionally I’ll find something to add to my collection like a big stock pot or a nice sized fry pan. I have heavy clad stainless steel with stainless steel rivoted handles and glass lids. I love my set and I didn’t pay through the roof to get it either. I like the glass lids because I don’t have to open the lid to see how things are doing. That’s great for rice dishes where you need to keep the steam inside the pan. Some people think stainless steel is too hard to keep looking good. You have to use utensils that won’t scratch and foods can stick too. I find it easy to keep my pots and pans looking like new. First, I do use utensils that don’t scratch like plastic, rubber or wooden spoons. When food does stick, I’ll soak the pan for awhile and then scrub with a plastic scrubber and Bon Ami in a circular motion. The pan looks like new after that. The best cookware can look good if you take care of it.
Taking Care of Used Cooking Oil
Now let us go to the depths of perfect reuse of used cooking oil. There are certain things to be kept in mind when dealing with used cooking oil. A brief mention about few of those things will not be out of place here. So let us start right away. First it is very important to strain the oil to remove the leftovers from previous cooking. Next you should keep in mind to use a thermometer to check the temperature each time. This is because it is important to take care that you don’t go above or below 190 degrees Celsius. Remember to turn off the gas soon after cooking because heat is known to increase rancidity of the food cooked. You should also remember not to cook sweet and spicy dishes in the same oil. Similarly it is obvious that intermixing of different oils is also not a good idea.
